Your organization has to be on Facebook! You have to be tweeting! You must be LinkedIn! Or so goes the message from mainstream media, association literature and seemingly everyone you know. Many organizations are jumping in, but without any plan or vision for what success looks like. They're burning valuable resources with no idea of how to achieve a return on their investment.

For the past three years association programs and certification conferences have been fed a regular diet of one social media entrepreneur after the next with a mouthful of hype about blogging, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc. You are practical and need to see the return on any time or money invested in social media. Like many CEOs or heads of their certification program, you are calling for proof.  “Show me the numbers. Show me the money. Tell me a story about someone who is filling a lot more seats for their exams because they mastered social media,” you ask.

This is the meeting and the practical presentation on social media marketing and networking you are looking for. Rich Brooks, founder and president of flyte new media, a web design and Internet marketing firm in Portland, Maine, will provide an interactive session on best practices based on real-life success stories of how organizations are building and engaging their memberships.

This is not a session for sitting on your hands! If you have your own success story (or horror story), best practice or real-life example, please come ready to share, listen and contribute.
