Do you wonder if this part of your program is really protecting the public?
Do you need an industry benchmark to help you defend your program?

Professional certification has raised the profile of professional practice.
Hear what one industry segment has done to help ensure continuing competence. Dr. Rebecca Lipner of the ABIM will discuss their Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process. What are the behind the scenes concerns with such a program? What are the challenges and pitfalls in developing such plans? How do you implement such a plan? How do you identify and communication with key stakeholders? What’s the stakeholder reaction?
You’ll leave knowing more about recertification possibilities that help ensure continuing competence among your own stakeholders. You’ll have a benchmark for your own program. And, as always with the CNG, you’ll have an opportunity to have your questions answered by an expert.
Key issues in practice performance for certification involve more than just retesting or attending meetings for continuing education. Various publics, including state and federal groups and consumers, are demanding continuing competence of professional practitioners. The program will address the following:
- Certification organization’s work in developing a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process
- The philosophy behind MOC
- Development of plan for MOC
- Challenges and pitfalls in development of MOC Plans
- Identification and communication to key stakeholders
- The implementation of the MOC process, including stakeholder reaction
