Corporate Changes & Moves

Thompson Prometric

Recently, Prometric’s parent company, Thomson Corporation, announced that it is planning to divest the Thomson Learning division. Prometric’s business model is sufficiently strong for the company to announce that Prometric and its clients would be better served for the company to be sold independently of the rest of the Thomson Learning business.

During the sale negotiations, Prometric is committed to ensuring that its relationships with clients and candidates remain its top priority. Prometric’s management structure and people will remain unchanged, as will the high quality and range of products and services it provides. Prometric continues to be singularly focused on providing superior service and support for its clients’ testing programs.

Prometric develops and delivers assessments through a global network of testing centers, as well as directly to candidates via the Internet. It is focused on providing clients with maximum testing flexibility, superior client and candidate service, and a secure and consistent testing environment. To cater to the ongoing needs of its clients, Prometric invests in unique technologies and service capabilities that do not overlap with the assets of the other companies in the Thomson portfolio. As a result, the company essentially runs independently, and its business model, content and applications are unique assets that do not align with Thomson’s core business focus, which is to provide standard information-related business solutions.

Prometric continues to thrive due to its comprehensive testing-system offerings, wide market capability, outstanding employees and loyal customer base. Last year was a record year for new client growth and expansion of services to the company’s existing client base, which remains highly diversified. Prometric set records for testing volumes, revenue and profit growth, and that momentum has continued into 2006.

Simply put, Prometric continues to be the strongest company and the leading brand in the global testing market. Its scale and other competitive advantages uniquely position Prometric to provide its clients with proven solutions and services. The management at Prometric is confident that it will continue to grow as an exceptional organization under the ownership of a company better aligned with a testing-focused business model.

Prometric is also pleased to announce a brand new global headquarters. Effective November 13, 2006, the Prometric headquarters will be located in Canton Crossing, a waterfront property in the historic Canton neighborhood in Baltimore. To support employee and business growth, Prometric needed more space with ample room for an expanded Data Center. Prometric will occupy 3 floors of the recently completed 17-story 1st Mariner Bank Tower.

Prometric's new address is Canton Crossing, 1501 South Clinton Street Baltimore, Maryland 21224
